For some entrepreneurs, getting out there and talking about your business has never been a problem. For some of us, it’s more than a little nerve-wracking. Unfortunately, it’s also a big part of building your business. Meeting new people, drumming up leads, conducting sales conversations. And, since getting you more comfortable with being uncomfortable is one of our unspoken jobs, we’re going to encourage you to do it as much as possible, in the beginning. (There may come a time when you’ll need to be very discerning about where and with whom to spend your time networking, but most likely, if you’re in track 1 or 2, it’s not today.)
So here are three ways on Take Action Tuesday for you to practice your elevator pitch and get over the fear of talking to strangers:
Attend a Chamber of Commerce event
The Chandler Chamber of Commerce offers countless events. Visit online for a list of what’s upcoming.
Attend one of our workshops
We’re hosting one this Thursday: Branding the Whole Truth with branding expert and president of Parker Madison – The Brand (Re)Engineering Firm, Mark Godfrey. Discover the truth about branding and how to leverage its secrets to your advantage.
Attend our Quarterly Connector events
The next one is next Wednesday, October 24th 5-7pm at Flying Basset Brewing. This is also a great opportunity to meet our mentors, clients and the community leaders who support entrepreneurship in Chandler. RSVP today! We look forward to seeing you there!
And, I look forward to seeing you over here at ASU Chandler Innovation Center soon!
