We invite you to visit the FAQ’s and answers below to find out more information about our incubator and Pitch Power programs.

How much does the Chandler Innovations incubator program cost?
Our incubator is free since it is sponsored by the City of Chandler, so we can only accept those businesses whose founders live, work or own property in Chandler.
We do accept non-Chandler business applications for our Pitch Power program, however Chandler businesses are given priority and others are on a space-available basis.
Everyone is welcome to attend our events (speakers, connector events, etc.) that are promoted to the public.
How long is your incubator program?
It depends. . .
We have 4 Tracks, and depending on where you come in, the time will vary. Here are some general timelines though.
Track 1-Solving a Problem: A 12-week cohort (meet once per week) that is offered 2-4 times per year. Once you finish the sessions, you can apply to advance to Track 2, or perhaps repeat this Track if you have had some pivots and need to revisit the principles taught in this powerful program.
Track 2-Planning for Launch: Monthly sessions and coaching (meet once/month for the sessions and at least once/month for coaching or mentoring) with rotating themes that are based on the 6 primary components of business (sales, financial, operations, strategy & leadership, marketing and r&d). The themes are presented twice per year and we have two levels within each theme. Businesses enter and leave this Track at any time, but we anticipate 6-12 months at this level before they are ready to advance to Track 3.
Track 3-Moving to Market: No required on-site sessions, just coaching and mentoring as needed. We recommend at least once/month. Businesses stay here until they have traction and are securing investors or working their exit strategy. This level does not have a time associated with it before graduating the program to Track 4.
Track 4-Scaling for Growth: Clients have graduated the program and can stay in touch for occasional support and also come back to do mentoring, speaking/events and support earlier stage clients.
How do I get into the incubator program?
We have full process that starts with your application. Once you have submitted that, you will be directed to make an appointment with us for a short conversation, just to make sure that you have met our minimum requirements for the program.
After that, you will be scheduled to do a 5-minute presentation in front of a panel of our staff and a few mentors. We hold these panels once per month.
They will determine your fit for the program, whether we are the best ones to help you, and if you are accepted, what Track you will be starting in.
We don’t ever just leave anyone out in the cold. If you are not a fit for our program, we will make suggestions for other programs that we think might be a better source of support and even make some warm introductions when we can.
Do you have to office at your location to be in the incubator?
No, our program is set up to be delivered in our classrooms and then for you to work at your office, wherever that may be.
Do you have office or lab space at your location?
There is some office space that is sometimes available for short term (up to 12 months) rental at our location. We don’t manage the rentals, ASU does, and you will need to contact them at email@example.com.
There is no lab space at our location, but the city of Chandler’s Business Development team can help you look for some. Please contact Micah Miranda at Micah.Miranda@chandleraz.gov.
How do I get into the Pitch Power program?
We have full process that starts with your application. Once you have submitted that, you will need to submit the additional documents required by the application deadline. We offer this program 2-3 times per year.
Your application and documents are reviewed and a determination is make who will get into the program based on the number of applicants and openings. We like to keep this cohort fairly small because of the amount of personalized support within the class.
You will be notified within a few days after the deadline and if accepted, will be sent any pre-course homework.
We do accept non-Chandler based businesses into this program, but Chandler businesses get first priority.
Are there any restrictions on types of businesses accepted into the incubator program?
Our programs are specifically designed for tech based businesses that are scalable. We are looking for innovators who are creating new solutions in the market, or making current solutions better.
Unfortunately, we do not support traditional store front businesses such as restaurants, dry-cleaners, clothing stores, salons and the like. We have partnerships with many other support services for those types of businesses and can direct you to those we think may be able to best help you.
What kind of support do you provide in the program?
We focus on helping you start and grow your business, but don’t do product development (like coding software for you).
Our goal is to have you learn how to run and grow your business from a Founder/CEO perspective, rather than just building something for the marketplace, up to and through the point of attracting investors and a more sophisticated C-suite team.
We have some nationally and internationally recognized mentors and advisors that we can call on to help you at various stages of your growth, as well as regular ongoing coaching from our staff and entrepreneur-in-residence.
We also have great support from the city of Chandler to help with finding space, Chamber of Commerce events, etc.
